Hello and welcome to my first blog for Chestnut Cat Sanctuary. I’m Maria and I am one of the evening feeders. You will be able to check my blog every Tuesday to find out a little more about some of the fantastic cats we have at Chestnuts!!

Now.. I know that you love cats (you would not be reading this otherwise!!) and so do I. I think that I have one of the best jobs in the world – I get to spend time with loads of cats on my own every Monday night and when I do, the cats we have may be a little different than when you see them - when there are lots of visitors about - so my aim is to tell you what they are really like.

Ringo is a fabulous cat, a real feline looking fella. Why is he called Ringo… well he has a perfect white ring near the end of his tail.. isn’t it cute!!

Ringo is a quiet and calm cat. He’ll let you know when he wants cuddles though he also has an independent side where he likes to do his own thing – and let you do your own thing! He is great with kids too.

Ringo would make a great pet for anyone and really deserves a new home.


Ruby is a beautiful white and grey ball of fluff. She’s the type of cat that you want to cuddle and brush your face against her fur! Ruby had an owner who loved her very much but they moved abroad and sadly Ruby could not go with them. She was in a family setting and is great with kids.



Ruby has a lovely temperament, and absolutely loves rubbing her head against anything she can find. She loves her cuddles and fuss and she is just wonderful. Come and see her soon – you really won’t be disappointed.
